Dr Jana Jenkins (BSc Hons, DClinPsychol)


I am a Chartered Clinical Psychologist accredited by the British Psychological Society (BPS) and registered with the Health Professions Council.  I provide assessments and therapy for adults and adolescents at a private practice in Thatcham, near Newbury, West Berkshire. In my clinical practice I predominantly work with individuals and use Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). I specialise in working with adults and young people who present with the following difficulties:

• Eating disorders

• Depression

• Anxiety

• Stress management problems

• Phobias

• Panic attacks

• Obsessive-compulsive disorder

• Schizophrenia

• Bipolar disorder

• Body dysmorphic disorder

• Chronic pain

• Interpersonal difficulties

• Post-traumatic Stress Disorder

• Anger management problems

• Adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse

• Adjustment problems following adverse life events (e.g. divorce, bereavement)

• Low self-esteem

• Low self-confidence

However, I also work with couples, and often involve family members in a client's therapy in order to facilitate their change, when appropriate.  I utilise family therapy principles in my work.
